How to tackle your brooding friends |
1) Do your own work and give your friends a helping hand but don't take on their burden and make it your own. Besides, if you are always doing things for your friends that they should be doing on their own, you are being more of a doormat rather than a helping hand. So offer help when it is needed and don't become a baby sitter to them.
2) Don't sit and cry with your friend because he/she is depending on you to be the strong person. You need to gather your courage and try to stop your friend from crying and not join in the wailing.
3) Sometimes, you might get so carried away with trying to make your friend feel better, that you tell him or her exactly what they need to hear, whether or not it is the truth. If you are lying to your friends about facts just to make them feel better, stop yourself.
4) Don't publicise what your friend told you, be a confidante and don't mock them behind their back. Respect their privacy.
