How to Get Along With Your In-laws |
1) Avoid confrontations with your in-laws. Try to let criticism or differences of opinion wash over you.
2) Try to get along well with them but don't let them take over your life. This is especially important when the grandchildren arrive. Set reasonable ground rules for everyone in the family.
3) Be tactful in explaining issues related to grandchildren and servants. If your in-laws are pampering their grandchildren a lot, then try and explain that their extra love would spoil them. Be tactful, so as to not hurt them.
4) Present a united front. Never squabble with your spouse in front of his or her parents.
5) Contact them without waiting for them to contact you, and invite them over before they invite themselves.
