It wouldn’t be the first time when I realized mid-way through a first date that this one was going to be the last with this particular guy. It is amazing how men fail to understand that one wrong move may cost them their partner! Even more surprising is the fact that they don’t even recognize what mistake they made. Little things you say or do might tarnish your reputation in the eyes of the girl forever. So if you want your love-life to flourish, steer clear of the following errors:
BASIC BAD MANNERS:
These might not offend your friends, but it will never endear you to your special girl. Don’t use swear words and don’t be rude to people. Remember the girl will judge you not only on the basis of how you behave with her but also with others. Talking with your mouth full of food or digging you nose in public will eventually disgust your date. If you are out to impress someone, being on your best behaviour is the sensible thing to do.
CHAUVINISM:
Being a male does not entitle you to treat females like dirt. Women deserve and expect respect. Acting like a sexist will lead you nowhere, atleast no where you want to get!
ROVING EYES:
Don’t stare at other girls. Atleast not while you are on a date! Try to give your girl 100% attention. Not only will that create a good impression, but it will also rid the girl of any insecurities she might have.
CLINGING PARTNERS:
Okay, she is your girl but she does have her own life. The more you try to invade her personal space, the more she will want to escape. Don’t suffocate her. Remember you are two different people. Being together 24X7 or calling every half hour is not a good idea. Freedom is a requisite in a relationship.
NONSTOP PHONECALLS:
You are on a date but one of your ears is constantly stuck to your cellphone? That means your partner is being neglected. If possible, keep your phone switched off while you are with her. Otherwise either don’t take the call or keep it short.
COMPARISON:
Each person has a separate identity. Comparing your current partner to your ex will make her insecure and jealous. It is extremely degrading to be constantly compared to someone else. It is not a competition, guys!
BODY ODOUR:
Behaviour may affect your relationship in the later stages but no girl will come close to you if you smell bad. Use a deodorant or perfume. Or better still, take a bath!
LIES:
You might be perfect in every other way, but if you lie and get caught, consider the relationship dead. Trust takes a long time to establish. One little white lie can ruin everything forever.
As long as you don’t commit these mistakes, you are in relatively safe territory. And if you can still turn a girl off, you’ll find out because in that case she wont talk to you anyway!
